The wheels on the bus go ’round and ’round

east or west?

BUT can you tell whether this schoolbus is going to the right or the left? I’m told a 3rd grader got the answer immediately. I didn’t.

SOLUTION TO I SHOT AN ARROW …. from May 1.

Here’s the visual solution:

Several people answered on Facebook or through email. Here are two responders’ answers that came via Comments:

From J. Boudinot: Place 4 arrows, pointing to the right, in a 2×2
array with each arrow just touching it’s horizontal
and vertical neighbors. Pointing left in the middle
will be… a white arrow!

From M. Donovan: if you place the arrows so that two are right next to each other head to tail and then place the other two below this two in the same manner, the open space between these four will be an arrow facing the opposite direction.

I can tell that the bus is not moving at all, but ASSUMING that this is a depiction of a moving bus from a kid’s point of view, it is most likely going right. If it were going to the left, the driver would be visible thru the front (left) window.
